Esta obra de Van Gogh puede verse en la Galería Nacional de Praga. Fue una de las pocas obras que el pintor consiguió vender a lo largo de su vida, aunque no la única. Se exhibió por primera vez en 1890 y fue vendido por 400 francos (710 € actuales) a Anna Boch, una pintora impresionista. Actualmente, forma parte del Museo Pushkin, en Rusia. Es una pintura al óleo creada por Vincent van Gogh en 1889.

In October 1888 Gauguin went to see him at Arles and the two lived and worked together for a short period, soon clashing violently. One night in December, after a huge row in which Van Gogh threatened Gauguin with a knife, the artist cut off part of his ear.
